Powology Safeguarding Statement

Last updated: 29 September 2026

Powology is committed to providing tutoring that is safe, professional and supportive.

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility. Powology works with parents, guardians and students to maintain clear boundaries and create a learning environment where students feel respected, listened to and protected.

Online Tutoring

A parent or responsible adult does not need to remain in the room during online tutoring sessions.

However, for students under 18, a responsible adult should normally be contactable during the lesson in case of an emergency, safeguarding concern or technical problem.

Students should attend online lessons from a suitable, safe and reasonably quiet space.

Communication

Administrative communication, including bookings, cancellations, payments and changes to lesson arrangements, will normally take place directly with the parent or guardian.

Where it is useful for learning, Powology may communicate directly with a student about lesson content or provide resources through an agreed platform, with the knowledge and consent of their parent or guardian.

Powology will not send or accept friend or follow requests from students on personal social media accounts.

Powology will not use personal social media to communicate privately with students, and students should not attempt to contact Powology through personal social media accounts.

Safeguarding Concerns

If a safeguarding concern arises during tutoring, Powology may need to share relevant information with a parent or guardian and, where necessary, with appropriate safeguarding services.

The safety and welfare of the student will always take priority.

Information will only be shared where it is relevant and necessary.

Parent and Guardian Concerns

Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact Powology if they have any concerns about their child's safety, wellbeing or experience of tutoring.
